Conventional radiocarbon dating service laboratory. Kiev.Welcome to the homepage of Radioanalytical laboratory of the Marzeev Institute of Hygiene and Medical Ecology located at Kiev, Ukraine. Conventional carbon dating services operating by benzene synthesis and liquid scintillation counting based on Quantulus LSC. It is fully-equipped laboratory, specializing in conventional 14C analyses. C14 dating lab. Responsible person – Michael Buzinny, We GUARANTEE: 14C dating is performed in our laboratory using modern conventional (LSC based) method since 1993. For all LS measurements we use LS spectrometer Quantulus 1220TM, produced by PerkinElmer (formerly Wallac Oy). Teflon vials shaped 7 ml, 3 ml, 0,8 ml allow optimize LS counting performance for benzene samples of different mass. We have performed hundreds of carbon-14 analyses for our researches and some for commercial purposes. Let us know more about your interest and requirements. We would like to discuss a radiocarbon concerned projects and other radioisotope researches especially from early stage of planning at Kiev 14C lab. Please send your inquiry or any ideas to Dr. Michael Buzinny. Information on sample's submitted sizes required, you could find below. Lern: our price

Radiocarbon dating C-14 sample prices (pricing) and cost:
( Sample costs for a carbon 14 analysis )
Base price for C-14 dating is 100 Euro per sample (14/11/2009)
#1: Routine One ( separate) charcoal sample (5-10 g of Carbon or more) coming abroad costs: 100 Euro + 10 Euro for Customs formalities. When 10 similar samples - cost is 1000-10%Discount+10 Euro for Customs formalities all equals 910 Euro.
#2: Routine One ( separate) charcoal sample containing (0.5-3.0 g of Carbon) coming abroad costs:150 Euro+10 Euro for Customs formalities. When 10 similar samples cost is 1500-10%Discount+10 Euro for Customs formalities all equals 1360 Euro.
When Sample's rate is not equal to 1,0 - for all cases, the base price should be multiplied to corresponding Sample's rate.
When High Precision - for both cases, the base price should be multiplied
to 1.5.
Attention!
About submission:
All samples passing through Customs should be clearly
labeled:
"SCIENTIFIC SAMPLES - NO COMMERCIAL VALUE".
Do not
claim a total value of more than US$10.
(PLEASE ask more details BEFORE of your samples SENDING).
For Europe it is recommended conventional mail.
14C is the radioactive isotope of the common element carbon (C). It is generally formed in the upper atmosphere by the interaction of cosmic rays with nitrogen gas (N2). The radio-carbon is oxidised to C-dioxide (or CO2) and is instantantly mixed throughout the atmosphere. As carbon dioxide is used as the basis for photosynthesis, the radiocarbon is integrated into all living things. As far as plant or animal dies, the C-14 decays.
It is known that half-life of 14C is 5730 years. At analytical laboratory could be measured the amount of remaining 14C relative to the stable C one which don't change in concentration. Back-calculation to the time of death could be done using the known carbon-14 half-life.
Radiocarbon content in the earth atmosphere is varying in time due to past changes in the strength of the earth's magnetic field, the strength of the sun and changes in the C-cycle. It cause that determined carbon age does not equal to calendar one. Therefore radiocarbon age should be converted to calendar age using one of several available software packages CALIB 4, OxCal, CalPal.
